Exploring Home Through Art (Year 3 & 4)
Investigate how the theme of home is explored in contemporary art in our Term 4 Enrichment Program. Students will begin their day with a guided tour of Here + Now V: There's No Place Like Home, discovering how artists interpret the concept of home through diverse mediums and perspectives.
Following the tour, students will participate in two hands-on artmaking activities:
Textured Impressions of Home
Using everyday kitchen utensils, students will create unique rubbings and textured patterns, transforming familiar domestic objects into expressive artworks. This activity encourages creative mark-making and reflection on the spaces we inhabit.
Still Life Pastel Drawing
Students will learn observational drawing techniques as they create a pastel still life inspired by items commonly found on a kitchen table. This task fosters close looking, composition skills, and an appreciation for the beauty in the everyday.
