Mythical Creatures and The Architecture of Feeling
Begin the day with an engaging guided tour of The Architecture of Feeling, an exhibition curated by Megan Monte. Featuring ceramics, works on paper, and photographs from Wollongong Art Gallery’s collection, the exhibition invites students to explore how artists use shapes, textures, and gestures to express different emotions and ideas.
After the tour, students will dive into a fun, hands‑on ceramic workshop where they will learn simple hand‑building techniques to create their very own mythical clay creature. This session encourages creativity, storytelling, and confidence as students experiment with forming and sculpting clay.
Please note: All clay and tools are provided, however, firing is not included. Schools or students may arrange firing independently, (this activity is ideal for schools with access to a kiln).
