Primary Enrichment Program: Become Art Critics for a Day

Thu 14 August 2025 09:00 am - 02:30 pm

FEVER Education Program

This free program for Years 5 & 6 invites students to explore the exhibition FEVER and contemplate First Nations knowledges regarding themes of identity, ecological crisis and connection to Country.

Outline for the Day:

  • Guided Exhibition Tour: Students will be led by experienced gallery guides the FEVER exhibition, and engage critically with political and innovative contemporary First Nations art.
  • Art Critique Writing: Students will channel their inner art critics, crafting written responses to selected artworks. A selection of these critiques will be professionally designed, printed and displayed alongside the artworks for the remainder of the exhibition – an opportunity to empower young students in developing their critical and creative voices.
  • Hands-On Printmaking Workshop: To conclude the day, students will dive into a creative printmaking session, expanding on the themes explored in FEVER through their own artistic expression.

This is a unique opportunity for young minds to think critically, express creatively, and connect deeply with contemporary art and the world around them. This program allows students to witness their words and ideas come to life in the context of a professional cultural institution.

Bookings essential – spaces are limited!
