Exhibition Callout for 2026
We're seeking exhibition proposals from artists and curators for consideration in our 2026 program. With multiple exhibition spaces available, we invite you to submit your exhibition application for consideration in our upcoming program.
At Wollongong Art Gallery we aim to present a diverse program, so we select exhibitions that explore a range of ideas, mediums, and practices. These exhibitions help encourage people to visit and use the Gallery as well as support our education and public programs.
Applications are open now and close on Sunday 4 May at 10pm, and the successful artists and curators will be notified by mid-May 2025. We encourage applications from everyone regardless of gender, ethnicity, cultural background, faith, or disability.
Important information
We are seeking passionate and creative artists, groups or curators. Applicants should demonstrate their artistic or curatorial practice, art industry experience, and a commitment to engaging with the community.

Your application must include:
- A short biography or curriculum vitae, and contact details,
- A description of your past and current art practice,
- An exhibition/project outline explaining:
- Your ideas, purpose or concept,
- Why you would like to exhibit at Wollongong Art Gallery,
- Benefit or relevance to the local or wider community.
- Details of your proposed outcomes,
- Practicalities such as preferred dates, number of works, dimensions of works,
- Any expected costs, and
- Sample images of your work (approximately 5).
- Email your proposal to gallery@wollongong.nsw.gov.au by 10pm Sunday 4 May 2025.
- Ensure the subject line of the email is '(Your Name) 2026 Program Application'.
- Please include any attachments and images in your email.
If your proposal is successful, the Gallery will provide the following:
- Artist/curator fee,
- Exhibition production costs,
- Marketing collateral including digital invitation, print and digital media promotion,
- Support to present exhibition public programs, workshops or events, including opening event, and
- Artwork insurance while the exhibition is in situ.
Catalogue production, additional publicity, freight or installation costs, and touring of the exhibition must be negotiated for each exhibition and is not guaranteed.
