We have a range of education resources and excursions packages available to help develop your students' visual arts skills or support your visit to the Gallery.
Excursion Packages
Step into a different classroom and book one of our free excursion packages, suitable for primary and high school students. An excursion to the Gallery is a wonderful opportunity for students to build their skills and develop a deeper understanding of visual arts.
The day usually involves the following:
- Our education staff will take students through the selected exhibition to learn about the artist/s and their practice, themes and concepts.
- Exhibition-based worksheet including writing and drawing activities created by our education team.
- In some programs, there will be an accompanying workshop. Students will have the opportunity to make their own art in response to the exhibition.
Our activities are aligned with NSW High School syllabus outcomes.

The Contemporary Collection Education kit
We've developed a self-guided kit to help students understand and appreciate contemporary art through key works in our collection. This is a great tool to use to complement school visits to the Gallery!
It includes:
- A lift out card with 2 selected artists detailing their works.
- Discuss, Make, Investigate activities to engage students with the artwork through looking, interpreting and art making.
